Excusez-moi, Où sont les toilettes? means “Excuse me, where’s the bathroom?” in French

If you visit France, or even in Quebec, in Canada, you might want to know the phrase… “Excusez-moi, Où sont les toilettes?” which is French for…”Excuse me, where’s the bathroom?”

As a purveyor of awesome bathroom faucets, sinks, tubs, fixtures, vanities, and such, I thought it would be fun to learn to ask this question in many different languages. Unfortunately, I only learned to say it in one language, thus far, but I figured French is a great place to start.

I may not visit Paris soon, but I might go to Canada, and I wouldn’t want to be frantically flipping through a translation guide when nature calls and I am in Quebec. Of course, there are many English speaking there as well, but you never know where you may be when you get that “call.”

When someone comes to your home, as asks…”Where’s the bathroom?” wouldn’t it be fun to direct them to your newly remodeled guest bathroom with the exciting new bathroom faucet, sink, and vanity? Of course it would, and you are probably over-due for a bathroom remodeling job, both in the guest bathroom and the master bathroom!

It is much easier than you think, to remodel the bathrooms in your home, and a good place to start is by visiting www.MasterFaucet.com where they have an enormous selection of everything for the bathroom and the kitchen as well! From faucets and sinks, to vanities, lighting fixtures and mirrors…they have an enormous selection at MasterFaucet.com and their friendly staff is ready to help you!

After you have your bathrooms remodeled, thus increasing the resale value of your home, when someone visits and asks the question, you can impress them by teaching them to say it in French…”Excusez-moi, Où sont les toilettes?”

Have fun planning your new bathroom, and have fun learning more French!

I’ve a GTP interview this week and asked to think about current issues in education and why I want to teach?

Hi all… I have a Graduate Teacher Programme (GTP) interview this week for Modern Foreign Languages (French).

Amongst other things, I’ve been asked to think about:

- current issues in schools and education
- why I want to be a teacher

I then have a written exercise and an ‘informal verbal task’ – one of which will be in French and the other in English. To be honest the main thing I’m concerned about is not knowing what’s going to be asked…

Any helpful tips or comments from previous experience would be MUCH appreciated!

Thanks :-)

When we interview candidates for our GTP we want to establish that the person has shown a commitment to children’s learning in the past – in or out of the classroom- that they have some idea of what they are letting themselves in for, and that they have prepared for entry to teaching by acquainting themselves with current issues such as revision to the curriculum and developments in teaching such as phonics and the wider aspects of the Rose Review.
We ask about a candidate’s experiences and teachers that have inspired them. One task we use is to present the candidates with an everyday object and ask how they might incorporate it in a lesson. Our written tasks are to kickstart an audit of their subject knowledge in English, Maths and Science.
