The fierce debate while children are still learning and play

Parents look at me with confusion on the face or call me with anxiety in voice. Everybody is wondering whether to do the right thing. Many are on waiting lists for your child to participate in a dual immersion program at a local magnet school, while the holder of hundreds and hundreds of dollars to their children participate in language immersion classes once a week. The problem is that these families represent a small percentage very little of our population in the United States.

How many of you are able to offer hundreds of dollars for a weekly class in Spanish for your child? What is the waiting list for the program of immersion or dual immersion magnet school premises? Do a lot of their neighbors and colleagues have the same opportunity you? The answers to these and other issues surrounding our feeble attempt to make early learning of languages in the image of this great nation is weak, weak and show a clear lack of direction.

Research continues to the conclusion that bilingual education can provide children a sound basis for the acquisition of second language skills while increasing their skills in reading and math. (Dr. Bialystok, York University, 2001) In fact, Colin Baker, in his book entitled Policies and Practices in Bilingual Education, speaks directly to the fact that bilingual education can work in school systems and significant result in the successful acquisition of language education.

That said, can we get we talking about? There is absolutely no way our Country United States of America never make the funds available to create the opportunity for immersion programs to develop each public elementary school from following school year. My daughter has cut physical education last year in her classroom in public schools. This year there have been three times PE teacher and per week. I think we called the recess. Each of us here about the budget cuts here and not enough money there. The harsh reality is that our country will never be what many other countries have done and continue to do so to provide sign language early learning for their citizens.

Imagine for a fleeting moment that the allocation of funds (for salaries of teachers dream finally sympathize with doctors), then what? Where would find enough bilingual teachers to teach through these immersion programs around the country? The answer is nowhere. Statistics show that the U.S. not combined educators to implement immersion programs around the country at all levels. Can anyone say outsourcing? I do not know about you, but my best effort to support the products, services and ideas to keep jobs here in America.

The last point to be debate is established regarding the dive against bilingual education is more important to me. Sense is a good approach, a very easy to understand the perspective and vision that involves the heart and mind. Imagine you are a very young child again. Go ahead. Close your eyes for a moment (and then open them to keep reading!). Your parents and drool over the objects in your house and learn the words for each item development of an infant to a toddler. His brothers and sisters are also involved in the celebration of family and rolling a ball to you, asking to roll the ball back. Here the natural language learning!

Did you know you know that most language experts, linguists, OK is equally easy to learn two words for one object as it is to get a while in these early years and training? This means that his brother could easily start in their limited knowledge of the middle class of a second Spanish language and say the ball (fee under tah) as you roll the ball and also says Ball. Or at the table with you in your chair, your family using the words thank you, thank you for (Grah-see-AHS) when they pass each other food. All these are examples of the introduction of a new language in a bilingual format. There is a steady flow back and forth between the mother tongue and language destination.

How realistic is this type of education for the mother at home, the kindergarten teacher, the provider of child and family education parents at home? Tons! Even if you do not speak a word of French, which may include the control of some simple vocabulary words a week, for submission to your baby. Or say I do not remember much from high school in Spanish (just enough to be dangerous in a Bars in Mexico), I bet you can easily carry a word a day in your home and your children's lives by using this technique. You made the commitment, and you can easily change the course of direction with respect the cognitive development of your child.

Resources are everywhere, and many of them are free. Yes, you heard right. FREE! Just search the Internet to connect to the target language you want to send your child. You get thousands of results, and their job is now to sift through and find what makes your child tick. Language cards, Music CDs, DVDs, children's books and more abundant in the world of language learning. The best part is most of these resources are actually presented in a bilingual format.

So while the debate rages between the bilingual and immersion education, not be swayed by the frenzy and losing valuable time in the window of opportunity for your child feels when it comes to learning a second language. Enjoy the first five years of life as Dr. John Mike makes us brilliant babies Adult Powerful book and give their children the opportunity to travel to success in this very global society in which they grow.
